Crossfit Thunderbolt in Oswego is hosting a rowathon on March 15th, 2025, to benefit Naperville Area Humane Society. This event is not only tons of fun, but also a wonderful way to positively impact the life of local dogs and cats who are waiting for their forever family.
What IS a rowathon?
A rowathon utilizes Concept2 rowing machines to allow a team (up to 10 people) to chip away at 42,195 meters – which equates to a marathon. You and your teammates will take turns rowing until you achieve that distance as a team.
There are a few ways to get involved in this amazing event:
- Single rower: Single rowers can reserve their spot on a team for $50/person.
- Team: You can put together your own team or join a team in need. If you are a solo rower who would like to join a team, please reach out to molly@crossfitthunderbolt.com
- Sponsorship: There are also sponsorship opportunities available if your company is interested. We have a two-tier sponsorship system:
- Tier one ($100 donation) will include sponsoring one of the row teams. This will include a logo of your choice on a free-standing sign which will be setup next to one of the row machines.
- Tier two ($200 donation) will include the option to set up a marketing table at the event. The marketing tables will be set up inside the event space and can include any marketing materials you’d like to show off or pass out to participants.
- Gift Sponsorships are from local businesses who give us a gift or gift card to give our winning teams.
Single rowers and teams can sign up now at:

CARE
At the Naperville Area Humane Society, each animal is tenderly cared for. Entering a shelter can be stressful or possibly even terrifying to some cats and dogs. Our dedicated and highly trained staff and volunteers offer compassionate care to each animal and work to address his or her individual needs.
The staff diligently matches each pet’s needs with a family eager to adopt a dog or cat. At the Naperville Area Humane Society, all animals receive basic vaccinations and medical care. All animals are neutered or spayed before being released to their new owners. In addition, dogs’ temperaments are thoroughly assessed before being made available for adoption.
Unfortunately, far too many cats and dogs continue to need help in our society. Since we cannot solve this overwhelming problem ourselves, we have evolved our approach to the homeless animal crisis to include innovative community service initiatives, such as humane education and a behavior helpline, while we continue to rehome animals.
