Coach

I’ve been doing CrossFit for almost four years, all at Thunderbolt. My older sister had been doing CrossFit for years and finally convinced me to give it a try. It was unlike anything I had tried, and I loved it.

Through CrossFit, I’ve been introduced to the world of running, something I said I’d never do. After two knee surgeries, I didn’t think I could run pain free. After several months of CrossFit, I was volun-told I was running a 10K with my husband. Since then, I’ve run countless 5Ks, several 10Ks, Ragnar Road and Trail, and a half marathon.

I help with the kids, JV, and teens classes as well. I was inspired to help with these after my step-daughter asked to join the kid’s class two years ago. She’s now in the JV class, and I love inspiring her and helping her develop healthy habits and a love of exercise.

In February 2019, I underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy with reconstruction. Four weeks after surgery, I was back in the gym. I can only thank CrossFit for the complication-free, easy recovery. From there, the coaches modified every workout for me for weeks when I wasn’t allowed to use my arms, and months after that rebuilding the strength in my upper body. Their help and dedication to my recovery led me to getting my completing my L1.
